I. Попередня підготовка до заняття.
II. Теперішній час має особливість вживання в 3-ій особі однини:
1. в третій особі однини (he, she, it) додаємо закінчення – s до основи дієслова.
- якщо основа дієслова закінчується на шиплячі -s, -ss, -ch, -sh, -tch, -x, -z та -o додаємо закінчення – es
to match – matches, to teach – teaches, to mix – mixes, to go – goes
- якщо слово закінчується на приголосна + -y, тоді -y замінюємо на i + es
to fly – flies, to study – studies
2. дієслово to be виключення , в третій особі має форму IS
III. Прочитайте вголос фрагмент святого письма і підкресліть олівцем дієслова в третій особі однини (за виключенням слів виділених жирним шрифтом)
The True Vine
1 “I am the true vine, and My Father is the vine-dresser. 2 Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit. 3 You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you. 4 Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me.
5 “I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. 6 If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned. 7 If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you. 8 By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples.
IV. Запам’ятайте дієслова з роздаткового матеріалу “Actions”. В парах, виберіть дієслово, покажіть жестами значення дієслова класу. Клас намагається відгадати дієслово та проказати його в реченні.
V. Складіть оповідання про те, що робить Бог як правдивий виноградар і що робить галузка виноградна. Використовуйте дієслова подані нижче, якщо можливо. Вчитель збирає оповідання студентів, навмання вибирає одне і читець зачитує його класу, студенти слухають і звертають увагу на правильне вживання закінчення -s в третій особі однини.

VI. Знайдіть дієслова в третій особі однини в цій версії святого письма. Яке закінчення вживається тут замість -s ?
1 I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman.
2 Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.
3 Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you.
4 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.
5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.
6 If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.

8 Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples.In pairs, choose an action, mime it to the group, let them guess which action it is, say it in a sentence.
V. Make a story of what God does as a true vine-dresser and what a branch does. Use the words below if possible. Collect students’ stories, randomly choose one and read in front of the class. Students listen to the chosen story and check the correct usage of -s ending in the 3rd person singular.
